About

It can be hard to know what to search for when you want to “zoom in on a web screen, then move to the next scene.” A slow move across a still image is a Ken Burns effect; enlarging one button is a zoom to element; sliding into the next scene is a push transition.

Film Atlas collects camera moves, screen zooms, scene transitions, sound edits, time effects, and finishing touches as a name, an explanation, a moving recreation, and code. Each demo runs in your browser, and its HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are available to inspect and copy.
