Walk halfway around an object on a table and its front and side come into view in turn. An arc shot moves the camera along a curved path around its subject.

Move along a curved track or floor mark, or keyframe a 3D camera around the subject while keeping it in view. The subject stays central as the background shifts around it.

Unlike a pan, the camera travels through space. Keep focus and distance on the subject, and avoid turning so quickly that the view becomes hard to follow.

When to use

Use it to introduce a person or product in depth or show a relationship between subjects. Check that the passing background does not become distracting.
